alterations to windows and some external work. No objection
- Hangleton Manor - Bad drawing and incomplete paperwork submitted. Personal objections have been made regarding the materials identified for the repair of the cornice
- Benfield Golf Course.- Alterations are generally welcomed but some local objections have been made regarding possible noise from the driving range
- Benfield Barn – The drawing are very poor and do not clarify the position regarding the floor and the necessity to level the area negating the present slope. A site visit was made by John Small, Allan Stevens and John Ayles and clarification has been asked for concerning the floor supports and impingement on the building. The roof needs review and a letter has been written to the Architects.
- Victorian Cottages – sited to the south. There may a medieval wine cellar beneath the proposed two storey cottages, formerly Benfield Cottages. Further investigation is proposed.
CAG
Adelaide Crescent / Kingsway – the old cast iron lamps are to be removed and replaced. No objections
Portslade – A tank is to be sunk under the car park to store heavy rain water run off and prevent flooding. Work vehicles will be parked on the Green
Engineerium – there is another application for a mobile phone mast
Aymer Road Flats – The application has gone to appeal
Sackville Hotel – a decision has not yet
been reached on the site but the columns and design work will be saved if
demolition is decided upon.
Update. The Engineer's report has stated that the hotel is beyond repair and must be demolished so the developers have been forced to abandon their plans for flats on the top of the hotel together with the pool, gym and sauna. A new application will have to be made to the planning department when a decision has been made for the future of the site.
The Drive / Weston Road – appeal on the plans for this site have been dismissed
Pembroke Gardens – A member has raised the
problem of two sheds in a front garden and the demolition of a wall in this
conservation area
